Verdict

Amazon TextractAmazon Textract delivers strong extraction accuracy and scales infinitely on AWS infrastructure. But it's a raw API — no UI, no workflow tools, and costs can spiral without careful monitoring. Best for engineering teams already on AWS who want to build custom pipelines.

Best for: Engineering teams on AWS building custom extraction pipelines
Not for: Business teams who need a ready-to-use solution without developers

In our hands-on testing, we evaluated Amazon Textract across our standardized test set of 50 invoices, 20 receipts, 10 bills of lading, and 10 bank statements — covering both clean digital PDFs and challenging scanned documents.
